‘What would you like to do when you grow up Rebecca?’

‘I want to be a performer’

This was my answer from as long as I could talk. From taking a bow upon hearing applause meant for someone else, to putting on shows for my mother in our living room, it was clear the path I would take.

When I was 8 years old I was thrilled that my local synagogue had decided to put on a production of Fiddler on the Roof. Great! My chance to shine and play the eldest daughter, ‘Tzeitel’. But when they announced the cast list and I had been cast as ‘Villager’, my 8 year old self, to my mother’s disbelief, rang the synagogue and quit!

It was time to take things to the next level. I was serious!

So whilst my mum went on a short holiday, I seized the opportunity to persuade my dad into helping me organise my audition for the world famous Sylvia Young Theatre School! To cut a long story short, I auditioned, I got in, mum got back from holiday, she yelled, I yelled back, I won the argument and we accepted my place for September.

So whilst my friends were learning long multiplication, I was learning time steps, and I loved it! Who needs a childhood anyway!

Before I knew it, I turned 16. I hadn’t concentrated quite as much as I should have done in the academic classes, so instead of applying for a place at Oxford, I accepted a 3 year Musical Theatre course at Laine Theatre Arts. It was intense but the training there really was second to none and on my graduation day, I could not have been more proud.

Since then I have spent my life appearing in various musicals, plays, concerts and cabarets all around the globe and have worked with many inspirational people and in some amazing parts of the world.

Much of my time is now spent performing at high end corporate events and private parties, often for incredibly profiled companies & reputable celebrities such as Ted Baker, Cliff Richard, LBC’s Nick Ferrari, Beverly Knight and James Cordon, to name but a few.

Each project is different to the last and I am so grateful for the variety that it brings and how much it has pushed me to becoming the versatile performer I am today. The beauty of life is not knowing what’s next, so I look forward to the mystery and the unpredictability of it all. For now, I continue to ride that wave to wherever it may take me.
